Would like to have:

  • visibility to helm chart version changes
  • visibility and automation to float to latest version of container images (like kured or flux does)
  • gitops workflow
  • good secrets handling

Looked at argocd, and decided that I'm going to pass on argocd:

  • Setup was a bit 'wonky'
  • Every 'application' needed to be set-up in the UI which isn't gitops from the start
  • I couldn't get the argocd UI to work with traefik ingress. This is likely a traefik bug, but still quite annoying
