Employ 3-band parametric EQ on dry input signal and store as signal to be clipped/saturated.
Offer 4-5 different clipping/saturation functions to choose from, and with an offset (for attenuation of odd/even harmonics) and drive stage feed them to the chosen function.
Run this through a DC blocker to, attempt, to remove some of that DC offset.
Run it through another parametric EQ (the wet signal).
Mix wet/dry.
