Android/Blackberry Wallet compatibility Issues? #166
Comments
Do you know if its using the old (text-based) backup format or the new (protobuf-based) format? When approx. did you create the backup? Did you restore from storage (/sdcard/Download/) or did you tap an e-mail attachment or file on cloud storage? What version of the app have you got installed on your BlackBerry? |
In both cases (android tablet and blackberry Q5) the wallet was opened from an email attachment. There doesn't seem to be any other way to import a wallet in the bb10 app. I also verified that on a Nexus 7 tablet the wallet restores properly (accepts my password). |
Can you look up the BB Bitcoin Wallet version inside the app, in Options > About? It should be something like 3.xx. |
I just uploaded version 3.60 into BlackBerry world. I suspect version 3.54 had a problem restoring from old backups when going the "tap attachment" route. I'm not sure how long the review process will take -- I'll let you know once its through. |
Yes, I have 3.54 installed. I'll wait for the release and let you know. |
No release on BB World yet, they usually post their apps within 2-3 work days though. |
It's still on review. |
Everything looks good in the latest release! |
Thanks, good to know. |
I recently imported a backup wallet from my android tablet and attempted to restore it on my blackberry phone. Upon doing so my password was not accepted (panic ensued).
Upon using the 'openssl enc' command line on the wallet backup the exact password I though I used worked. Why doesn't this work on the Blackberry platform? Is there an android/blackberry incompatibitlity?
