Hi,
I have an issue with ESCs on a quad using those ESCs. It only occurred when using a 4S. Everything is fine and awesome on 3S. The only difference is that I have one Plush 40A on a old circuit board version (v6.1), new one are on (v6.21). They are all flashed with the Turnigy Plush 40A Multi Firmware.

I can't find information on internet to help me fix that problem. If its because of the old esc that can cause sync issue even if they all have the same pwm max and min, I will order a new one. Like I said, it is only happening on 4S batteries.

Thanks for the help!
Tim

Hi Tim

I really doubt the board versions matter. There is also another user (MayMayDay) that reports oscillations: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1686498&page=66#post28055739
Could it be similar?

Thanks,
Steffen

Wow thanks for the fast support. I'll flash my ESCs to version 10.4 and let you know today.

[Edit]
I flashed 10.4 to all esc and same result. I don't understand why everything is smooth on a 3S battery and not on 4S. Also. my two opposite arm on same circuit version are stable. I've got oscillation only on my two opposites arm with new and old esc version.

Thank you again

I don't know the details between v6.1 and v6.21 HW, but generally the changes have been very minor, some layout details only. And the gain should be set by firmware alone.

Going from 3S to 4S, however will increase your loop gains. So, normally you may need to lower your PIDs.

I have join my config file that I used for the ESCs. The loop mode is off. Motor Timing is at Medium and PWM at High. I tried to play with the PIDs on the flight controller but even at P=3 on arduCopter 3.0.1 it was oscillating.

Anyway I don't want to bother you with that. I'll stay on 3S and order a new ESC later.

Thanks
