Add a keyboard shortcut to close the eqMac window (command W) in status bar mode #592
Comments
Ah, I see. I looked at the settings, but it didn't occur to me that having it docked might help too. I'll adjust the issue title. The feature request now is to support this from the status bar mode. WDY mean by
? Is this a technical macOS limitation, or is something like this still possible? I mean: ⌘Q works, but I guess it's a more global shortcut than an app-specific shortcut? |
Hey again, could you please download the pre-release eqMac.pkg v1.3.2 from here: https://github.com/bitgapp/eqMac/releases/tag/v1.3.2 |

Thanks for the quick solution! 👏 |

Description:
AFAIK closing the eqMac window without quitting the app is possible in 2 ways:
Both methods require mouse movement and a click. The first method requires the mouse to be moved to the top of the screen to reveal the menu (if it's hidden), and then another move towards the eqMac icon, and a click. The second method requires a mouse move to a very small UI element: the top-left cross button in the eqMac window, and a click (which I sometimes miss because the button is so small).
I propose to add a keyboard shortcut to simplify closing the eqMac window. Since ⌘Q (command Q) quits the app, which is useful too, I propose ⌘W (command W) to close the window.
User flow & interface:
As a user, when looking at eqMac, I'd like a shortcut to close the window without closing the app, so that I don't have to move my mouse to some small UI elements that do this.
