[WAPP] Discontinued? #689
Comments
Yeah, I'm using WAMP too for my projects. I was planning to upgrade my current WAMP installation and just found out that it is no longer available ... It was a shock and disappointment. |
Hi @wagwan-piffting-blud, @oneill2john, Yes, we stopped our offering for local installers in all Operating System (Linux, Windows, and OS X) in favor of our virtual machines, containers and cloud images offering. We also published a notice about the installers deprecation under the asset's pages since the blogpost below was published on November last year. https://blog.bitnami.com/2022/11/focusing-on-cloud-native-solutions.html We highly recommend you to continue using our virtual-machines on Windows, where you can get the latest version of the included components and the most recent security issues solved from the official Operating System repositories. |
@wagwan-piffting-blud ; I have found an excellent replacement for WAMP. With it you can easily add any PHP version, any Apache version, any MariaDB (or MYSQL) version. And you can switch to any version with just a mouse click. |
Hi @oneill2john, Thanks for your suggestion. I'm moving the ticket back to pending column. |

What happened to the WAPP offering on the Bitnami website? It appears the page is now gone with a generic notice saying the offering was discontinued, but I cannot seem to find a reason why. My PHP application for Windows users relied on it, and I am afraid to host the installer elsewhere for fear of receiving a takedown due to it being partially proprietary.
Overall, my main questions are:
Thanks.
Wags
