Unable to login on Bitwarden client on Linux (Ubuntu Desktop 22.04) #9252

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Go to '...'
  2. Click on '....'
  3. Scroll down to '....'
  4. Click on '...'

Expected Result

After entering master password and MFA token expect the bitwarden client app to unlock the database.

Actual Result

Follow-up toi #9212
After reinstall, master password is accepted only to have MFA error.
Again master password and MFA work just fine on Windows client and firefox plugin.

Additional Context

Did remove bitwarden client and reinstall.
Master Password IS correct and can be used just fine to unlock firefox extention or Bitwarden client on Windows 11 PC.
Same goes for MFA

Hey,

Same issue here on EndeavourOS (Arch Linux)

My Bitwarden app.log

You can enter Bitwarden if you untick "Remember me" on the 2FA Page but it enters an infinite loading screen

The issue is with installing Bitwarden from snap please install the package using terminal, it 's work for me, here is the page https://bitwarden.com/es-la/download/

Open the terminal where you downloaded the .deb and write
sudo dpkg -i name_archive.deb (replaces the file name.deb)

and it's done

El problema es con la instalación de Bitwarden desde snap. Instala el paquete usando la terminal. A mí me funciono, aquí está la página.
https://bitwarden.com/es-la/download/
Abre la terminal donde descargaste el .deb y escribe
sudo dpkg -i name_archive.deb (remplazas el nombre del .deb)

y ya esta hecho

At this stage, this GitHub report will be closed.

*Edit: Please follow the instructions Bitwarden Help Centre to allow the Snap Bitwarden desktop client to access Secure Storage, and then log out and log in anew; This applies to only Snap on Ubuntu.

I tested it with yay and pacman. Both doesnt work. Im not using snap.

Hi @chaosfreak93,

You can consider testing an upcoming build to see if it works as expected in your environment, or to use an older version, such as 2024.3.0, till this is improved in an upcoming release; Please remember to back your passwords up, if you decide to test that upcoming build.
