Maybe as an option next to enable/disable recording, snapshots etc. you could have an option for enable/disable evm. It allows you to see minute movements (e.g. Baby breathing, see movement when someone is very still (e.g. sleeping) etc. I tried this out, it works really well.
Are pretty recent, and show you what it can do. It's not much code to add (173 lines in https://github.com/absdnd/Eulerian_Motion_Magnification/blob/main/live_magnification.py) and a big win in my opinion. I've seen other stuff like pulse detection and other stuff but that only thing that works really well is evm, and as a bonus is easy to implement (pass the cv2 to the evm code i guess, but coding is not my day job!)
