The snapshots come from the detect stream, this is working as expected. There's a pinned request to add a snapshots role though there are a number of difficulties.

Recommend reading #2199 for more info.

Since you haven't specified a detect resolution, Frigate resizes to the default resolution of 720p.

To be clear, record is a direct copy of the stream, no resolution detection or anything.

Detect will always resize the stream to whatever is set (unless it is exactly native resolution)

Seems straightforward, but setting the detect resolution to match my cameras' resolution seem not working for me. On 0.12.0-rc1.

Edit:
My bad. It actually works in Frigate. I was checking the snapshot in Home Assistant, which is in low resolution. Any way to show high-res snapshot in Home Assistant as well?

high-res snapshot in Home Assistant as well?

I would like to know about this too. HA shows very low res snapshots!

@Michael-Loia Michael-Loia changed the title [Camera Support]: Snapshots / Event Images save at lower resolution than camera stream. (4k resolution downscaled to 1280x720 image) removed Dec 5, 2023
