Is there any intention on supporting text in the box. Some of my users are power users dealing with dates from maybe a decade ago and they'll want to just be able to type the date quickly rather than select the dropdown and navigate to it.

Do you still need that feature? Actually this should be solved in some kinda way with validation on blur or something that you cannot enter wrong date and that the date is in correct format that is provided.

Hey does your date picker support year selection, like going back 50 years for dob field would be cumbersome by navigating through months.
