I thought the reason why no one supports chacha20-poly1305@openssh.com and curve25519-sha256@libssh.org in iOS are because essentially everyone is using libssh2, due to license reasons. I've read that libssh being LGPL cannot be statically linked, and AAPL mandates static linking.
Is this not true? If not, could blink from license POV use libssh? If this is true, how is GPL 3.0 licensed mosh possible?

Sorry, just saw this one. Mosh has a special iOS exemption that makes it compatible with the AppStore. Libssh unfortunately doesn't and although I might try to send them an email, they haven't been very receptive to it before.
So we want to basically invest on people who are able to change libssh2, adding new crypto, etc... If you know someone, let us know! ;)
Thanks, that makes sense. Sorry I hadn't noticed the license exemption in their repo, I expected to see it in COPYING file.
Yeah would be really nice if libssh added similar or just changed to license.
