My device:

OnePlus 5T
OxygenOS 9.0.3
Android 9
Security Patch 1 December 2018

Blokada Version: 3.6.101900

In the following options Blokada closes automatically:

  1. Clean installation with default configuration. It closes at the same time.
  2. Option 1 + Active "Keep active". It closes at the time.
  3. Option 1 + 2 Active "Aggressive start". Closes at time.
  4. Option 1 + 2 + 3 and Recent applications, in Blokada the padlock is active. It closes at the time.
  5. Even if the Do Not Optimize option is activated. It ends up closing in any of the previous situations.

Another incredible situation is the following:

  1. Clean installation with default configuration + Recent applications to Blokada active padlock. I am with WIFI and change only to data, Blokada is closed, change data to WIFI and Blokada is activated.

Hey,
Could you please let us know why do you think it's a Blokada issue instead of the system's behaviour? :)

@rpeter85 Do you think it's the right answer? ... Do you really understand what is happening or do you assume that everything works because it works for you? ... Is Blokada ready to support Android 9? ... you must read, assimilate the reading and think because it's happening, maybe you'll understand to give coherent answers

@xmiseggs that was a question, not the answer. I'm really interested why you think it's something that Blokada can/should do, rather than the syetem you are using, which obviously kills the application.
Reason behind is that even though there is a 'keep alive' option in Blokada, the system always has higher priority, which means it can kill or pause applications.
Yes, Blokada is Android 9 ready and not only I use it on that system, but others as well.

Let's reset and give me a clear view: do you have other, active VPN? Does Blokada start up and block ads? After how much time it's killed?

I don't have another VPN.
Blokada does not reactivate itself, as the logical blocks when it is working.
There is no exact time to determine when the system kills the Blokada application, as is logical, what is clear is that when you go from WIFI to Blokada Data dies.
I'm not so dumb as to have bullshit applications that kill processes.

I've been providing problems and improvements as far as possible to @kar its developer for some time, I'm alternating between different advertising blockers and at the moment I'm waiting for version 4 of Blokada, now I find a new operating system Android version 9 where I find situations of incorrect functionality and I give the cases and situations that occurs to be taken into account.

In many moments I have thanked the developer for his free contribution and we all know how difficult it is to develop taking into account the fleet of mobile phone companies such as Android versions and their respective skins from different companies.

My contribution is facilitated and I am willing to try any version that is released.

Thank you.

For your information I have also informed OnePlus of the problem.

@xmiseggs let us know about their findings or if you need further assistance from Blokada.

Thanks, I'll try Blokada again later when I get the new Android Pie API. At the moment I keep the Virtual Hosts or NetGuard application that never closes and work perfectly in my OnePlus 5T.
