I have enabled Blockada and adguard DNS and then when using the chrome app, websites refuse to load. When I disabled Blockada, the websites began to load again. This happened with every website I tested from Google to Facebook to Reddit

Hi,
AdGuard had outages in the recent days and because you set that service in Blokada, you won't have internet access. As soon as you disable Blokada, the default DNS will be used, and because that is available, the internet access will work.
Let me know if you still face the reported issue.

Hi,
I have the same problem. I changed the DNS to the Alternate DNS but I can still not load any websites in the chrome browser.
What information du you need to reproduce the problem?

hey,
To narrow it down, can you please let me know

  1. what device do you use?
  2. does it happen on mobile and wifi as well?
  3. does it happen only with Chrome or with other browser as well?
  4. is Data Saver disabled?
  5. is "private DNS" in system's settings disabled?

hi,
These are my comments on your questions:

  1. I use the OnePlus 5T
  2. yes ist happens with mobile and wifi
  3. The problem also exist with firefox
  4. Data Saver (Chrome) was enabled -> The problem also exist if i disabled the data saver
  5. Private DNS was enabled (dns.google) -> Once the private DNS was set to off, I could access web pages in Chrome again.

It would be interesting to know if @pst98 has also activated the private DNS ...

Thanks for the feedback @kizombaDev, let's see if @pst98 faces the same issue.

I'm pretty sure I had my DNS set to automatic. That's how it is now at least. Not sure if I changed it since. I now use cloudflare DNS and for the most part don't experience any difficulties with loading pages

Could you please check if in the system settings - Network and Internet - Special, the private DNS is set to be 'off'? That could help to identify the issue you are facing.

Thanks. Can you disable that and check if then everything works as expected?

FWIW: I had the exact same issue and disabling Private DNS fixed it. Thanks!

Hi, I am having the same problem,
disabling Private DNS did not help.
With all browsers, no data savers enabled, no energy savers, standard DNS or any one from blokada list, no page loading, happens on mobile and WiFi ,Xiaomi 9T, MIUI GLOBAL 11.0.5,. used blokada versions since long, never any issues before...

I suppose, this DNS-related issue can be closed.
