Suddenly slows Chrome on OS X

Since installing the extension, I've had intermittent sudden slowdowns (significant lags on every keypress) in all of my Chrome tabs, using up-to-date Chrome and OS X Yosemite. Other applications work fine.

Restarting Chrome does not help--it takes a full system reboot. I disabled the extension about a week ago with no other changes, and it hasn't happened since.

Also when you didn't have inbox open? Are you able to share your computer specs?

Once it's happened, it continues to happen with Inbox closed. I have Inbox open all the time, so I haven't explored with just GMail.

It's an intermittent problem, so I know this is only circumstantial evidence that it's the extension.

OS X Yosemite 10.10.1
MacBook Air
1.7 GHz Intel Core i7
RAM: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

Chrome 39.0.2171.95 (64-bit), less any updates since disabling the extension a week ago.
