Prompt the user to rate a work when it has finished reading it and viceversa #1160
Comments
it will make sense to address this after #1092 |
Just started using Bookwyrm — really nice so far! This was the first thing I noticed — having the rating attached/go along with the “finish reading” would make so much sense, especially if it would generate just one notification — and I'd argue this could be crucial, as it would make the bookwyrm notifications federated to other places a tiny bit less annoying :) (though, I know that it is possible to make the rating notification unlisted/private, but still) One thing I see — this was planned to be addressed after #1092, which seems to be closed — what are the chances this could see the light of day? |
I'd still like for this to happen; that pull request was just a nightmare that tried to do too many things at once |
Just found the issue and I would highly appreciate that. Are there any chances to realise the „rate/finished reading“ combination? |
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
When one finishes reading something, you have to put it in the "Finished" shelf and then go back again and rate it, and the same applies to rating something, if you do it doesn't go to the "Finished" shelf, which doesn't make a lot of sense, since you're supposed to rate works you have read.
Describe the solution you'd like
After one rates or finishes reading a work, prompt the user to shelf it in its respective shelf, or to rate it, respectively; this can be optional, meaning you can leave it without rating or without it belonging to a shelf, but it should be prompted since it is the most common course of action users will follow.
