No Encryption, no Authentication == MITM

The audience for this project is probably aware of this already, but just in case, you might want to note that the IR communications are neither encrypted nor authenticated, so this setup would not keep the keyboard input secure. Anything else with an IR receiver nearby (e.g. a TV in the same room) could listen in on what you type, and a really interested attacker could send their own text stream to the dongle.
