Would be really nice if it was possible to have multiple backend modules, so that you could group different type of configuration in their own module.

Interesting idea... Should there really be different modules or would it be more user friendly to select the different configuration groups within the module view (either select a group before the form is shown or provide a group selector in the form)?

Currenly we use our own extension based on the constant editor, here it's possible to define up to 10 modules, but only use three. We have talked about it, and we agree that it could also just be that you select which group of constants from the one module. Preferably as a card view - like in the install tool.

Sounds good! Basically TCA definitions would need to be grouped and in ext_localconf.php a mechanism to load the selected group needs to be implemented. Thank you for the inputs!
