Failed connection to broker

I am getting a connection failure when using the plugin

The message
connect failed
DockerConnection connect to mqtt3 server [127.0.0.1:1883] failed: null

Is there anything I can do to find out:

• What this failure is causing ?
• Where this 'null' comes from?

Checked my self

• The logging of the Mqtt broker does not show any connection attempt from the plug-in client.
  This, for me, implies it is already failing inside CLion...

My Setup
I am using a docker container to run Mqtt (v3.1.1)
Besides the plug-in I also Mqtt-Exploror and command-line client to verify the connection.
The connection seems to work for the other two client.
