The API proposal has NOT been approved in the TSC meeting held in 7th Dec -- minutes available here.

As for next steps:

  1. [API owner] Decide naming for the Sub-project hosting the API proposal @jgarciahospital. TSC raised two flags with the original proposal:
  • TSC does not think KnowYourCustomer is valid to host the API. Suggestion is to look for a new Sub-Project.
  • TSC thinks that the current name is misleading, since API is not really verifying customer's home location.
  1. [API owner, API backlog] Look for another company that wants to become supporter for this API @jgarciahospital
  • For a sub-project to be open, CAMARA requires having maintainers from at least two supporting companies. In the backlog table, only Telefónica appears. There is a need to have another company onboard.
  • To move forward, a delegate from another company should submit a Pull Request against the backlog table, by adding the company name in the column "Supporters in API Backlog Working Group" for this API.
  1. [Supporting companies] Once action 2 above is completed, the supporting companies shall propose their initial maintainers for the subproject.
  • These maintainers need to be listed here.
  1. [API backlog chair] To send information to TSC.

  2. [TSC] Vote again the proposal. If approved, TSC can propose optional additional initial maintainers. The TSC will officially nominate the (list of) initial maintainers.

  3. [CAMARA admins] Create the subproject repository, following official nomination from TSC.

TSC thinks that the current name is misleading, since API is not really verifying customer's home location.

"Home Location Prediction" seems more appropriate than "Home Location Verification".

"Verification" would be a different case, where an authorised API consumer passes the customer's stated address, and the network matches it against their subscriber record and answers "yes", "no", "unable to determine".

Hello @jgarciahospital
Could you please provide me with the list of initial maintainers for this subgroup?

this is "Most Frequent Location", isn't it :-)

So, please add me as maintainer.
