To begin, there should be a comment with the latest version. For example:

// ZenHub backlog updater
// Version: v0.1.2
// https://github.com/canonical-webteam/zenhub-backlog-updater/

That version should be a tagged release. This would make the rolling out of updates easier and more predictable.
