OpenJpegProcessor invokes OpenJPEG's opj_decompress tool to decode JP2s, and opj_decompress can only read from files. This is one of several important limitations of OJP. OJP needs to be scrapped and replaced with an Image I/O plugin that calls into libopenjp2, which already supports non-file sources. |

The documentation for
OpenJpegProcessor
states that:Is the issue that the OpenJpeg library doesn't support streaming; or is the
OpenJpegProcessor
itself that is unable to stream? For the latter I can see that there is an open PR (uclouvain/openjpeg#1212) in OpenJpeg which seems to add support for buffer-based streams. However, after reading #561 (comment) it seems like there needs to be work done in both the OpenJpeg lib and
OpenJpegProcessor
? Or is there a fundamental issue that would preventOpenJpegProcessor
from ever supporting streaming?Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
