Issues with newer versions of arm GCC

We have to stick to v10.2.1 (10-2020-q4) as any newer version causes compilation issues in CODAL:

The issue with GCC v10.3 was fixed in:

• Fix for problems compiling on gcc 10.3.x+ lancaster-university/codal-core#144

But there is an issue with v11.2, which looks like a compiler bug:

This issue is resolved in v11.3, but that release is much bigger:

There are issues building micro:bit V1 repos and DAPLink with gcc 12, so cannot move yet:

• Failures building with arm-none-eabi-gcc v12 bbcmicrobit/micropython#795
• Cannot build with arm-none-eabi-gcc v11 or higher lancaster-university/microbit-dal#493
• Support for newer versions of GNU Arm Embedded Toolchain ARMmbed/DAPLink#1040
