Evaluation and Feedback

  • Great initiative, very helpful to get us thinking about planning how to manage our data, so we can be organized right from the start and look for resources as we need them. Edward is very accepting of everyone's input and makes us feel comfortable participating and sharing our ideas, experiences, questios, etc.

  • Really good introduction to data management. I would like to have more time to explore the other sections. Edward listen everyones point of view. He was also very passion about the topic, so that helps me to be more interested about it.

  • A nice introductory workshop to make us aware of good practices right at the start of the project/PhD. Edward is really good at it.

  • Very nice recommendations about data management. Will make my PhD way more organized and hopefully easier

  • It's very helpful, got to know about many new websites and informations that will help in future in my research work. It's a great initiative. Thank you Edward for this wonderful session.

  • Happy with the takeaway message! Hope to see more practical example like the one of the tidy tables, let all the examples be as questions which practice we should adapt ! Thank you for your time again.

  • Very engaging presentation. Provided some sort of motivation for organising my data better going forward. would have been nice if it was little longer so that we could cover the whole thing properly.

  • We had a nice time ! Nice reminder of some things and an opportunity to learn some new ones. I would be keen on having this as a small course (3-4 lectures) to cover all the material and maybe more in depth : ) thaanks !

  • It's very helpful!

  • Nice overview and incredible website full of useful resources and notes

Please list one thing you liked or found particularly useful

  • Engaging presentation, good pacing.
  • The document with all shared information is very clear and easy to follow

Please list another thing you found less useful, or that could be improved

  • More real examples might be useful, e.g. contrasting good and bad scripts and repos.
  • Maybe some concrete suggestions for software we could use to manage some of the data, back-up, etc.
  • A more explicit section of good and bad data formats with examples
  • Great workshop. An extra session on getting started using Github would be popular I think.
