Are handshake strategies allowed? #39

Thanks, I should’ve checked for duplicates. I am closing the issue. |
I’m somewhat interested in hearing that you have a server devoted to this, are any of your strategies open source? |
https://github.com/Prisoners-Dilemma-Enjoyers We have a 50+ members discord server devoted to strategies. Most of our strats are open source, we have 38 in total iirc. We try to improve as a group so I encourage you to share yours as well! |
Oh I saw this org in the fork tree! That’s super neat. |
Alright, I’ve added a pull request. One thing I’d like to ask is, could you move the strategies that are labeled “nobody5050” out of l4vr0v’s folder? We’ve been exchanging some strategies to help make both of our submissions better. |
Oh also, @nekiwo could you give me the discord link? |
Handshake strategies have one central entry and multiple non-central ones. When a central and non-central meets each other, they do a “handshake” (do a certain pattern) and check if the opponent’s moves match to their handshake as well. If so, the non-central entry starts to give up for the benefit of the central entry. When it doesn’t match it just starts doing some good strategy like TFT or anything that won’t hurt much. With enough non-central entries, the central entry can easily win.
This was asked by Ottomated and a lot of other people in our server. Do you have any official words on this?
Personally I do not think it fair, as you can easily submit with many gmail alts and win even against the best strategies.
