(help wanted) Unable to install chrome browser extension for tests

We are trying to install a browser extension, to auto-approve cookie banners for our tests. Unfortunately we were unable to configure the wpt-agent docker container to install extensions.

We tried to add the extension inside the /wptagent/internal/support/chrome/prefs.json file and the way via a .json file inside /opt/google/chrome/extensions/
For the prefs.json way we used this guide.

Is the wpt agent actively blocking the installation of browser extension?

Any help is appreciated.
