When starting the game, a popup appears and says: "A Hotkey is already in use, it may not work.". Is there a way to turn this popup off ?

There's currently no way to turn off this warning if the conditions for issuing the warning are met. However, it would be possible to add a feature to disable this warning.

I'm also getting this issue but I'm not 100% sure I did everything correctly.

I first came across the FPSUnlockAndMore.exe tool and I used that but then I gave up on that as I don't want to have to start such a tool every time I want to play the game.

After much trial and error I finally got this to work with this tool but I still get the error in this post. I haven't even started playing the game so idk what could be this issue with the hotkey. Starting the game via SpecialK didn't have this error.

Since it might be related I am hijacking this thread instead of creating a new one.

I will re install the game from scratch tomorrow just to be safe but I believe that the current state of my game is the following.

  1. I downloaded dxgi.dll , d3d11.dll and dinput8.dll and placed them in my game folder where sekiro.exe is. I did NOT rename any of the files.

  2. I started the game and I believe this created SekiroFpsUnlockAndMore.xml (or so I guess). Anyway the file is there.

  3. My TV is 120Hz so I set the frame rate in SekiroFpsUnlockAndMore.xml to that (119 actually).

  4. Starting the game like this and in Fullscreen it was still locked at 60 fps. I read somewhere that this will always be true in fullscreen.

  5. Based on the previous point I set <cbBorderless>true</cbBorderless>. I believe I did this first with the game still configured to Fullscreen and got some error that this can't be done while the game is in fullscreen. I started game, changed to Windowed in-game, changed the setting in the .xml and restarted the game.

  6. Game is now Borderless full screen but

  7. I still get the pop up about the hotkey already being in use.

  8. When I exit the game there is still a SekiroFPSUnlock (DLL? can't remember) process running. In fact this means that Steam thinks the game is still running.

@cathyjf @Klemci Can either of you confirm the correct install procedure for the new version? This tool seems awesome as a simple, one time fix but I'm having trouble following along the instructions. The README.md seems to be about the previous version with the mentions of SekiroFpsUnlockDll.dll and SpecialK which I believe are no longer needed?

If it's simple enough I would be happy to contribute by updating the README.md but I'm still somewhat confused with all the tools and how it is supposed to work.

Many thanks in advance!!

dxgi.dll , d3d11.dll and dinput8.dll

Mmhhh, it's only one of the three, not all together, one will work, try all 1by1

SekiroFpsUnlockAndMore.xml
No, it' the other mod config file

First of all thank you for the reply!!

dxgi.dll , d3d11.dll and dinput8.dll

I just find it weird that there's 3 of them. Does it depend on the architecture of the game? In any case having the 3 of them shouldn't matter according to the documentation in the release page that says:

There is no reason to use more than one of these DLLs at a time. However, if you choose to put more than one of the DLLs into the Sekiro installation directory, this will not cause any problems and everything will work fine.

Regarding

SekiroFpsUnlockAndMore.xml No, it' the other mod config file

Can you please clarify? Because that's the one that shows up and also is on the README.md but the README.md seems to be out of date as I've already mentioned.
