unattended_upgrades

Ansible Galaxy role cesnet.unattended_upgrades that installs unattended-upgrades and configures them to send errors to root.

Use "--tags config" to run only config.

Requirements

Define the root_email_address variable to contain a valid email address that will receive errors.

Role Variables

  • unattended_upgrades_origin_patterns - block of lines defining checked repositories, the default is
unattended_upgrades_origin_patterns: |2
          "origin=Debian,codename=${distro_codename}";
          "origin=Debian,codename=${distro_codename}-updates";
          "origin=meta@cesnet.cz,a=stable";
  • unattended_upgrades_blacklist - block of lines defining packages blacklisted from upgrading, default empty
  • unattended_upgrades_automatic_reboot - "true" or "false" (the default) whether to reboot if /var/run/reboot-required exists
  • unattended_upgrades_automatic_reboot_time - the time to reboot, default is "now", value is used as argument to "/sbin/shutdown -r " e.g. "+20" is in 20 minutes or "02:00" is at 2 am. It is not possible to specify a day.
  • unattended_upgrades_mta_package - Debian package providing Mail Transfer Agent, more specifically /usr/sbin/sendmail file, default is sendmail
  • unattended_upgrades_mail_package - Debian package providing the /usr/bin/mail file, default is mailutils
