Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Using .strm export the database is not populated with audio/video properties (resolution, video codec, audio codec, aspect ratio, duration, etc.).

Describe the solution you'd like
Reading this: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=329370&pid=2711906#pid2711906 Korellen suggests that Kodi is supposed to read that info when playback happens. It appears that there was a bug, stopping this from happening.
Once it's fixed, I'd like your plugin to take advantage of that functionality, in order for the database to be populated when a file has been played. Maybe it will come automatically once the basic functionality is fixed in Kodi, I don't know.

Tried installing today's nightly version and the behavior is the desired one. After playback the audio/video properties populate the database.
