Purpose:

Language-agnostic automatic synchronization of subtitles with video.

Benefits:

This helps watching videos with subtitles which are wrongly timed. It helps fixing the timing thus syncing the subs.

Apparently, there are some issues in the pkgbuild file/sources..in the aur page, some commenters discuss this issue, I don't understand this since I haven't any experience in this. So, it would be helpful to look at how they went about fixing the issue.
