CAS Authentication Error in v2.0.2 #1

When I upgraded from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 (update via Extension Manager: Update) my CAS authentication stopped working. Each time I try and authenticate the error message in Joomla states the following,

"LDAP can not have blank password".

To fix the problem I rolled back to v2.0.1 and the problem went away. So until resolved I will not update to v2.0.2.

Please advise. Thanks.

Hello emmcdonald,

What version of joomla are you using? I use v 2.5.6 and use CAS Login Plugin 2.0.1. But still got error "Empty password not allowed". What should I do? Can you give me step by step to configure like you have? Thank you.

I get this error using the latest Joomla 2.5.6 (fresh install) and joomla-external-login v2.0.2. My previous error message (see above) occurs when the LDAP Authentication plugin is enabled. With the LDAP-auth plugin disabled, the error message switches to "Empty password not allowed".

Hello emmcdonald,

The case is same with me. So, What version of "joomla" and "joomla-external-login" should I use so that CAS Authentication can be run?

Always use the last version (2.1.0 for external login and 2.5.9 for Joomla)

I also get an "Empty password not allowed" error until I realize External login plugin is not published by default.
