The permanent Announcement pill/strip/something at the top of the notifications column is a bit intrusive. When I've seen all the announcements I'd love to be able to dismiss it.

This could be done by somehow "unpinning" the announcement from the top and letting in flow in the chronology of the other notifications?

I don't particularly like Mastodon's separate tab for the announcements, but that can also be a way of hiding them once read. I just don't really understand how to view old announcements this way.

It might make sense to open a separate issue for this secondary issue: It would also be nice to be able to see and add reactions to announcements. I guess it's an important reaction/metric/insight to have for server admins in some cases.
