  1. Press ?to show Keyboard shortcuts help
  2. Press ESC
  3. Press /

Expected:

Search bar pop up

Observed:

Search bar pop up and the Keyboard shortcuts help appear below it

Reproducible:

  • macOS Safari 16.6
  • both dev and prod

Hmm tried this on macOS Safari 17.1.2 (19616.2.9.11.12), unable to reproduce 🤔

Strange. I realized that step 3 can be any key:

  1. Press ? to show Keyboard shortcuts help
  2. Press ESC
  3. Press /

For example It can be ESC (again), j

Old Safari maybe?
