Like the title suggests, I think it would be nice to keep the thing. Both as (human, not computer) memory, and in case you need to change something later.

Do you mean in the generated file? It is kept in the original file. If you are deleting the original file, don't do that.

EDIT: Yeah, I never actually used this thing. I just read the README because I find it interesting!
