glibc-static dependency on RHEL

Looks like it is hard to find a blessed version of glibc-static rpm. Wondering if there is a way around this dependency.
I am having a lot of trouble installing this cookbook due to this issue.

glibc-static is needed by runit-2.1.1-6.el6.x86_64 and is generally available in rhel repositories. What do you mean by "blessed" and what platform specifically are you having issues with?

I imagine a CentOS 5.
