Sometimes anti-malware tools (including Windows Defender) may report that they are blocking Clink.
Sometimes they may even block Clink without reporting any message.

See Troubleshooting Tips.

  1. Consider adding an exclusion for Clink in the anti-malware tool.
  2. The contents of the clink.log file often help in determining whether anti-malware software blocked Clink.
  3. If it's indeed being blocked by anti-malware software, report the false positive to the publisher of the anti-malware software so they can confirm and update the detection signatures.

There's nothing Clink can do about it.

Only an antivirus software manufacturer could say for sure why their software has chosen to block Clink.

However, there are many steps involved in hooking into an existing process, and any of those steps could potentially be considered “suspicious” by antivirus software (inject remote thread, load DLL, hook APIs, and various other steps). Those are required steps for hooking into an existing process; there’s nothing Clink can do to avoid those steps.

Sometimes antivirus software may find other surprising reasons to get excited about a particular program. Only an antivirus software manufacturer could say for sure why their software marks a particular program at a particular time, and the reasons may vary from time to time.
