Play hangs at song start

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.hangs after song is loaded, sometimes
2.The program then crashes and I have to restart the phone
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Song is expected to start playing, instead the progress bar sits at 0:00

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
DAAP 9.1 on HTC Hero 2.2 and all other software updates.

Please provide any additional information below.

the only stable way I can use the client:
Version 8.5  with Streaming and SD card disabled.  Very stable, only drawback 
is long pauses between songs.

This problem occurred at the newest release, which uses android's default 
streaming engine.  We are still investigating this issue.

Most important bug, I think.

0.9.1 doesn't play songs with Firefly. With DAAP by Rhythmbox it works and 
plays songs sometimes, but there seems to be no system when it does work and 
when it doesn't.

0.8.5.1 works without problems on DAAP by Firefly and Rhythmbox. Using Banshee 
no connection possible (maybe Banshee bug).

Great app.  I don't know if this is problem or related, but I find that I can 
get consistent playback from constant bitrate mp3 files.  But the variable 
bitrate mp3 files that I have tried will not play.  Using firefly version 
0.2.4.2 (openwrt)

I also have this on an LG Optimus V on Virgin Mobile USA. It is running Android 
2.2.1.

One time a song started, but the other twenty or so times I've tried I get 
nothing.  I just installed the 0.8.5 release and it does not have the problems.
