Hi,

I'm running SRS as client with a standard windows user account, not admin.
There are standard user access control settings and each time I run SRS client I'm asked admin password. SRS may modify registry base or something like that each time it start up.

Would it be possible to have a way launching SRS client as a standard windows user + standard access controls without windows admin password need ?

Or may I have missed something in the way to set SRS ?

Best regards.

Hi @Couby,

you setup is correct - SRS was built to always request admin permissions when starting, unfortunately, this is the only way for us to detect your SRS keybinds being pressed while DCS is running (since the game otherwise "swallows" the keybinds and they do not get picked up by SRS anymore).
Due to this (Windows) limitation, SRS cannot be run without admin privileges.

Hope that solves your question, although it doesn't really solve anything 😕

I confirm that doesn't solve anything 😭 .

I understand that is out of SRS scope, but would there be a way in windows to permanently affect this right to SRS app ?

Unfortunately, we do not have official support for that, but a quick Google search suggests you should be able to create either a scheduled task or a shortcut to run SRS-executable and save the admin credentials.
You're on your own doing that though 😉 SRS should work fine if you use either a task or shortcut (just make sure the working directory is set properly when using a task).

Many thanks for these orientations. Will take a look at the scheduled task and give feedback. Should be enough to close this issue, my guess 😃 .

👍 Let us know if that works.
Closing the issue until then.
