In reference to the following two resources, pointy hand should be used "only when the content is a URL/Link": 1. Apples Human Interface Guideline 2. W3C User Interface Guideline Also, I found the following blog post regarding "why buttons should not have a hand cursor" |
July 8: Thank you for researching, will follow up with Dev to only display Pointing Hand cursor for URL links on the site and not for interactive components such as buttons. |
Information regarding cursor styles have been added to the CTI Design System. |
Before we dive into the guidance that this issue seems to provide, we need to make sure its findings are still accurate. Kevin Ashworth indicated that he sees the finger on major sites like apple on both buttons and links. Here is an example. |
