Paste image from clipboard not working in Chrome with Default install #2926

Provide detailed reproduction steps (if any)

  1. Create a screen clipping with the Windows snipping tool or with print screen
  2. Copy image to clipboard
  3. Paste in the content

Expected result

Image is added to the content in IE11 (Edge mode) and Chrome (72.x)

Actual result

In IE11 it works in Chrome nothing happens.
Also this site is used in IE10 mode inside our company. In IE10 mode also nothing happens.

Other details

  • Browser: IE11 & Chrome
  • OS: Remote desktop users on Windows Server 2012R2 / 2008R2
  • CKEditor version: 4.11.2
  • Installed CKEditor plugins: Default full install

It seems that IE11 and FF have default behaviour of pasting an image as a base64 string when pasting in an html element with attribute contentEditable="true". This doesn't work in Chrome
