I've been pasting this HTML into an empty editor: https://gist.github.com/Reinmar/7d8573bf3cfe06bbec4220bd604388e6

(It's copied from http://practicaltypography.com/index.html)

What I get is this:

Apparently, some autoparagraphing doesn't work. What's odd though is that this text should not end up in the root anyway because it's not allowed there. This means that there may also be some bug in insertContent() or something.

I made a quick test that if you paste it on http://localhost:8125/ckeditor5-typing/tests/manual/input.html you will have nice paragraphs. So perhaps it's conflicting with the list or link features.
