To add to ceceron's question, it would be good to set a filter for album art. For
instance, an album directory may contain many different pictures: cd.jpg, insert.jpg,
back.jpg, but I might want to specify 'cover.png' as the preferred album art.

Also, grabbing artwork from Amazon (placing a higher priority on the localised
service based on the country set in Preferences) and Discogs in addition to Last.fm
would be appreciated, as would the ability for the program to automatically compare
the artwork obtained from these difference sources and select the image with the
highest resolution and bit depth.

This is a feature that will make me immediately start to use this as a daily player.
Or just maybe as a high test one.

Now, the way you manage the covers need to be somewhat carefull, specially on those
who relly on have redundant cover sources, for example, having it as an embedded
element on the files, and to have a file named "cover.", "front.", "folder.*", etc...

You can't just override a set manually album cover by a fetched one, even if that is
bigger, because it may happen that the fetched one may not be the correct, or might
have very bad watermarks (it happens) ... so, there can be some rules.

As an additional note, it may be included a feature where you can see all the other
scans/images corresponding the album, if they are available, and if the user does
wish it.

In my case (as pure art) I use embedded cover art, plus a file named "cover.jpg",
with a maximum size of 1024x1024, always avoiding files that use an alpha channel,
because when I transfer them to the ipod (using amarok14) they just show completly white.

This is more or less fixed in trunk now.

Status: Fixed
