DLNA streaming support #5183
Comments
I found a quick workaround: I just imported the files from an smb share, this worked perfectly. |
https://github.com/Boxee/djmount works okay-ish, too. |
This functionality (a.k.a. UPnP) is available in Amarok (see https://userbase.kde.org/Amarok/Manual/Organization/Collection/RemoteCollections/UPnP), so I guess it shouldn't be that much work to port it over to work w/ clementine. |
A better workaround to SMB (I think) is to use djmount which will make your local DLNA providers available through a fuse-mounted directory. It's available in the Debian repositories, See http://djmount.sourceforge.net/ |
It would also be great to have a possibility to pass multimedia from clementine to another UPnP/DLNA renderer. |
@t-dan This would actually work as expected, if Rygel, the DLNA-engine included in Mint, made the DLNA device appear in the audio devices list. Which it does not for me. |
What is the current status for this FeatureRequest? |
I've heard nothing. I'm afraid I haven't done any work on this for a few years now - sorry. |
Is it possible to import music from a DLNA server?
If not: it would be a great improvement
BTW: great project, keep it up!
