Climate Referendum collects the following data:
Personal identification information:

<li>Entered by user: First and Last Name, Email address, Nationality, 18+ years old checkbox tick, a short self-description written by users which may include their organization, company, school, institution, and/or profession. </li>
<li>When users login with Google, we receive an internal ID from Google, name, given name, family name, profile picture, email, email verification (true/false), and language used.</li>
<li>When users login with Facebook, we receive phone and or email address, internal ID from Facebook, name, first name, last, name, and picture.</li>

Additional Data collected :

<li>The solutions that users select when voting. </li>

You directly provide Climate Referendum with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

<h5><b>How will we use your data?</b></h5>

Climate Referendum collects your data so that we can:
<ul>
<li>Send you our Newsletter once or twice a month only if you agreed to receive it when filling the voting form or entered your email in the “subscribe to newsletter” text box in our web app. </li>
<li>We do not sell or share your private data with other organizations or companies.</li>
<li><u>All data entered in this platform will become part of the public domain except your contact details</u>. UNESCO defines “Public Domain Information” as publicly accessible information, the use of which does not infringe any legal right, or breach any other communal right (such as indigenous rights) or any obligation of confidentiality. “ and in regards to our use of this information, we will post it in our Web App for any registered or unregistered visitor to see, share it in our Media communications if relevant, and use it in other activities or events to promote our voting platform. We refuse any liability for unforeseen ways in which the public or third parties use public information and by accepting this privacy policy you agree not to hold Climate Referendum liable for it.</li>
<li>As a fundamental part of our voting tool, we will transparently and publicly publish votes and other public information (not your contact details) on the Ethereum blockchain so that people can verify that their vote was cast as intended. The information posted on a public blockchain such as Ethereum would classify as “Public Domain” since information published there (apart from private tools which we will not use) is accessible to the public. </li>
<li>We will use Machine Learning technology to better understand public information entered in our site (not your contact details) but since the nature of this information is public, anybody else could do it too. Our purpose behind using Machine Learning is to better understand how our users relate to the topics discussed in our site. Our findings may or may not be public.</li>
<li>We will send you an email to confirm your vote was registered and to let you know about updates to our Blockchain registry and major milestones of this project being reached.</li>
<li>We will also contact you by email if we need clarification on potentially dubious data entered on the voting form or to let you know that you have infringed our Terms of Service.</li>
<li>We will use Mailchimp, Mailtrain, and/or a similar service to send you our Newsletter or notifications. Feel free to check their privacy policy for further information.</li>

<h5><b>How do we store your data?</b> </h5>

<p>Climate Referendum securely stores your data in Ecobytes and Mayfirst servers (https://ecobytes.net/) (https://mayfirst.coop/en/).</p>
<p>We take security very seriously and that’s why we encrypt all communication between your browser and servers with the HTTPS protocol. In addition, our system do not save login passwords. </p>
<p>We will keep your data for an undefined amount of time since it is crucial to our service (a voting tool) to always have certainty of which users already participated in order to avoid double-counting. </p>

<h5><b>Marketing </b></h5>

<p>Climate Referendum will not send you any marketing materials apart from our newsletter if you choose to opt in when submitting your vote or at the footer of the “info” section of our site. </p>
<p>Even if you have previously agreed to receive our newsletter, you have the right to opt out by clicking on the link at the bottom of the email received.</p>
<p>We will not share your contact details nor any of your private information with our partner companies or third-parties.</p>
<p>You have the right at any time to stop Climate Referendum from contacting you for marketing purposes.</p>

<h5><b>What are your data protection rights?</b></h5>

<p>Climate Referendum would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following: </p>
<p>The right to access - You have the right to request Climate Referendum for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service. </p>
<p>The right to rectification - You have the right to request that Climate Referendum correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request Climate Referendum to complete information you believe is incomplete. </p>
<p>The right to erasure - You have the right to request that Climate Referendum erase your personal data, under certain conditions. </p>
<p>In accordance to Article 17 of GDPR section 3.d, the right to erasure will be limited to the extent that processing is necessary for “archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific or historical research purposes or statistical purposes in accordance with Article 89(1) in so far as the right referred to in paragraph 1 is likely to render impossible or seriously impair the achievement of the objectives of that processing”.</p>
<p>Since removing voters from our voters list would undermine our historical, scientific, and statistical research purposes, we will be not be able to erase your name, last name, vote selection, and nationality from our voters list. Other voters, users, and non-users of our platform might have a public interest in this voting process being permanent and immutable and thus removing voters might undermine the public interest and trust in this process. </p>
<p>Nevertheless, we are happy to erase other details from your vote like your opinion on public topics, the short description of yourself, and so on. For this you will need to fill a form and provide us with different kinds of identity papers for us to make sure you are who you say you are and to express your legitimate reasons to ask for the erasure of your data. Please send us an email to hello@climatereferendum.com and we will send you the corresponding form. Without legitimate reasons, identity papers, or the erasure form filled, we will not be able to help you.</p>
<p>If for some reason an underage person uses our services in violation of our Terms of Service or by accident, we will cancel our restrictions on data erasure and completely erase all data he or she entered in our site. </p>
<p>The right to restrict processing - You have the right to request that Climate Referendum restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions. </p>
<p>The right to object to processing - You have the right to object to Climate Referendum's processing of your personal data, under certain conditions. </p>
<p>The right to data portability - You have the right to request that Climate Referendum transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions. </p>

<li>If a user chooses to enter false, offensive, or misleading content into any of the fields in our platform, the administration will be forced to remove either the information or the user from our site. If the user believes that a mistake has been done from our part, he or she is welcomed to send us an email to hello@climatereferendum.com for further clarification.</li>
