It looks like Chrome recently updated to the draft 10 websocket specification. It's now expecting a different handshake procedure. The exact error from the js console is:

Error during WebSocket handshake: 'Sec-WebSocket-Accept' header is missing

I think at some point I enabled auto-downloads of Chrome betas, so I'm not sure if all Chrome users are seeing this yet.
