"Type chat..." does not disappear in some browsers when placing the cursor in the text field #46

win8, chrome 35, IE11
1, login as ksmith
2. place the cursor in the chat text field

expected: it should behave the same in all browsers

actual: in IE11, default text will be cleared, but in win8+chrome and mac+FF it won't

browser behavior, no need to fix.
