Katex doesn't work with .md files

Hugo Version: v0.68.3/extended linux/amd64

Inline Katex doesn't work with .md files. However, if you just rename them to .mmark it works. But support for .mmark will be removed. What is the problem and how to fix it?

I tested and it is ok.

• cd themes/hugo-notepadium/exampleSite

• rename math-typesetting.mmark to math-typesetting.md

• and remove markup: mmark

• run hugo server --themesDir ../..

No it doesn't. I did exactly what you said. Please notice that the supposed to be inline math is now a block math. That's the issue. Inline math gets layoutet as block math. Test for example this line:

Let be $$x \in \R$$ and then ...

Then you will see the issue.

Now it works in the post. The funny thing is that in the preview at the homepage it still views it as block-comment. Maybe you can fix that too, but it's not such a big problem.
