Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I am trying this tool on a repo that switched to conventional commits recently, but has older commits and tags.

When trying out cog bump --auto i get the following:

Error: tag `junrar-4.0.0` is not SemVer compliant
cause: unexpected character 'j' while parsing major version number

Describe the solution you'd like
The non compliant tags should be ignored, either by default or via a configuration option.

Describe alternatives you've considered
I am evaluating replacement for semantic-release, and currently evaluating convco, which works well in those hybird history cases.

Additional context
Add any other context or screenshots about the feature request here.

Cocogitto will work just fine if you create the first SemVer tag manually. For cog checks and cocogitto-action you can use the from-latest-tag argument.
That said It wouldn't be a problem to implement a configuration option to completely ignore non compliant tags

but i already have an existing repo with existing history, so that is not an option

For cog checks and cocogitto-action you can use the from-latest-tag argument.

but that would mean i need to remember that i need this every time i use the cog commands

That said It wouldn't be a problem to implement a configuration option to completely ignore non compliant tags

which is the feature request :)
