It would be great if we could have the option to use the original material dark mode. The new one is too high-contrast.

It seems this might have been fixed in the most recent update but text still seems whiter than before. I believe I remember most text being near-gray to white.

I'm having an issue with the night mode not working at all anymore :(

Edit: I take it back. For some reason the setting had disabled itself, that's all. Working great now!

Is there a way to disable ImprovedTube theming and use YouTube's built in dark theme that I'm missing?
Night mode off in settings uses a light theme regardless of my YT preference and night mode on uses this theme which doesn't work very well on the upload page.

Edit:

Nevermind you have to choose 'Don't change' under 'YouTube version' but maybe that should be clearer.

Edit 2:

Okay so it keeps defaulting back to 'New' instead of 'Don't change' and then themeing the page again. Undesired behaviour.

YouTube has a built in dark theme?

Yep on desktop and mobile. On desktop it's in the user menu at the top right

New ImprovedTube 2.0 (release very soon) will contain new Theme Engine and Editor that automatically creates themes (current version just uses pre-created CSS)
