In the image node, if you select "Copy (clipspace)," you will see the following:
It is a space where you can manipulate the data contained in the clipspace.

When using the mask editor from the context menu, in reality, it simplifies the process by copying the image to Clipspace, using the mask editor to edit it, then saving the modified data back to Clipspace and passing it to the node.

Therefore, when you use the mask editor feature, you can see the edited results in Clipspace.

Clipspace is designed to contain data other than images, but currently, the extended features provided by clipspace are only related to images.
