Composer are hungry for repositories data. And most repositories consists of static content. Is it possible to setup 'remote solver'? It would cache as much as possible repositories. It would receive 'composer.json' requests to solve and would reply with list of packages to install.

It is theoretically possible of course, but in practice we can't really do this in a centralized way since we can not possibly access all the private repositories. Anyway this might be an idea in the future, but for now we should do other improvements.
